Client Critiques

For those of you that are unsure about obtaining a sink with barely any evaluations:
I did a lot of research on a sink in this cost range and narrowed down my options to this Kraus and a zero-radius Vigo VG3219C (with the strainer and bottom grid as well). Both were very close in price tag I could not choose one particular from only seeking on-line and reading the handful of reviews, so I ordered both (so I could touch them sinks for reals).
Both sinks arrived the identical day (Vigo ordered from Household Cheapo). I do not normally really feel this compelled to write a critique. Here is a comparison:
Company:
Kraus: You might possibly have study on one assessment for the 32 inch version of this sink that Kraus sinks are made in China and try very difficult to hide it. It really is accurate, it is produced in China with a faux-German name - so if you are only interested in purchasing some thing made in North America or nations that are recognized for good quality products (like Germany), then do not purchase this sink.
Vigo: Made in China, sold from New Jersey (side note: I don't know why, but anything I've ever purchased from New Jersey, or any e-tailor I have bought from that is based out of New Jersey has normally ended up getting a scam or knockoff....weird).
Packaging:
Kraus (11 out of 10): Preferred packaging I have ever received something in....ever. The box is air tight and produced of that incredibly durable, thick cardboard, and every thing is padded like crazy inside with styrofoam and the sink itself comes in a canvas bag. Note that this is truly a packaging job by Kraus and not Amazon.
Vigo (three out of 10): Flimsy cardboard box. Poorly taped together. Thin layer of styrofoam on the best and bottom. The elements could definitely make their way in. I can not say if Amazon would beef up the packaging, Property Cheapo confident didn't.
Looks:
Kraus (ten out of 10): This sink has tiny radius corners and those grooves that go towards the drain, I know you are attracted to that style. It looks great - specifically like the manufacturer pictures.
Vigo (10 out of 10): The sink basically looks particularly good. Just like the manufacturer images.
Finish:
Both were 16 gauge stainless steel. I know you are wondering if it feels as smooth as the 1000+ dollar sink you were drooling over at the kitchen and bath store, or if it feels rough. Here's the deets:
Kraus (8 out of ten): It feels very close to those high-priced sinks. I am truly pretty surprised how smooth it is. I consider I would only be able to tell the distinction if I had the two side by side. One note is that the corners of this sink are machined (unlike pricey zero-radius sinks which are soldered together by hand) and the high-high quality smooth finish that is on the rest of the sink does not seem to feel the similar in the corners. This essentially doesn't not bug me at all. The difference is not significant, but it is noticeable. I did not want to attempt to scratch my brand new sink to see how it holds up to scratches. Sorry. There weren't any on there, so that is a fantastic sign. I will program on making use of the bottom grid for added protection.
Let me re-iterate that the Finish of this sink is way above my expectations.
Vigo (three out of 10): Feels horrible....like sandpaper. It arrived with a lot of scratches on the inside of the sink. It appeared that someone had currently opened it up (I blame this on Household Cheapo for passing it off as a new item, I doubt they sent it back to Vigo to repackage). The quality of the Vigo was sub-par and the zero-radius corners (factory welded in China!) did not even go all the way up to the top rated in a single corner, so there was literally a hole in the sink (speaks to their excellent control).
Sound-deadening material:
Kraus (ten out of 10): Most, if not all, of the stainless steel sinks I have seen, have the whole underside coated with a hardened foam. This was applied thicker on the Kraus compared to most other stainless steel sinks I have noticed (at all price points). This made me pleased. There are also sound-deadening patches strategically located (look at the images). Location of patches is outstanding. These patches are good and thick, too.
Vigo (5 out of 10): Foam was not as thick as Kraus. Sound-deadening patches were also particularly thin and poorly placed. But hey, they were there.
Recap:
Kraus: The superior of this sink continues to impress me. It looks and feels like a rather costly sink. You can not do far better for this value point.
Vigo: Shipped from the ever shady New Jersey. Scratched and had a hole in one particular corner. Not smooth at all. It looked good, but wouldn't fool anybody. I returned it promptly.
UPDATE:
I have put to use this sink for a even though now and my wife and I maintain telling each other how a lot we enjoy it. We have been using the bottom grate and the sink nonetheless looks as fantastic as the day we bought it. We are working with this sink with a Moen Lindley faucet and they go good together. Lastly, the tiny-radius corners have been quite straightforward to clean and I am so content we did not go with a zero-radius corner. I would obtain this sink once again (if the circumstance ever arose).

We had this sink installed abour one particular week ago. It was installed as a unfavorable reveal under granite. Incredibly solid sink. Incredibly spacious sink and looks marvelous. I would not hesitate at all if you are taking into consideration this sink. The only factor I would be cautious about is getting the 32 inch sink as we pretty much did that and I consider that it could possibly have been too massive. The picture does not do the sink justice and the sink looks considerably bigger as soon as installed. I very advocate this sink to anybody and absolutely everyone.
